Wine travel in China.
A hub for the trips the directory can actually support. Each note uses the airport, the hour, the booking rule or the distance already printed on a producer page or in the region guide. A season, a high-speed station, a visa rule or a payment app is included only when one of those pages states it. Otherwise the gap is left open.
Before you book
- Language. Long Dai publishes its tour in Mandarin, French and English. Grace, Nine Peaks and Xige publish an English page for the visit. A rule for the rest of the country is not stated here.
- Money and entry. None of the estate pages used here describes Alipay, WeChat Pay, or a visa. Ask the estate which payment it takes when you book. For entry to China, use your own government’s travel advice. This page does not reprint a visa rule.
- Who runs the tour. No tour operator is named on the producer pages used here. The booking channel, where one exists, is the estate: a form, an email, or a WeChat account printed on the estate’s own visit page. The account name is left on that page.
Ningxia and the Helan Mountain East 宁夏Níngxià
The airport these sources name is Yinchuan Hedong. LVMH’s note on a booked Chandon tasting puts the estate about an hour by road from that airport or from Yinchuan railway station. The hours on that listing belong to the event, not to an ordinary week. Read the current page before you treat it as open.
Château Changyu Moser XV is the other published public visit near Yinchuan. Ningxia tourism copy calls it a 4A scenic spot. Hours and a current ticket are not reprinted here, because the pages used do not give a tariff. Confirm both.
Xige Estate, at Dove Mountain in Qingtongxia, asks for a free reservation one day ahead through the WeChat account on its visit page. A lecturer-led tasting, a meal and a room are charged. Decanter China describes Hongsipu, south of the city, as about two hours from Yinchuan. Dongfang Yuxing, the Best in Show estate there, does not publish a visit, so Hongsipu is a drive in the source, not a tasting stop.
A visiting season is not published. Robinson’s 2012 essay describes ripening that stays cool into September and October. That is about the grapes. Silver Heights, Helan Qingxue, Kanaan, Helan Mountain, Li’s Estate and Xi Xia King do not have a booking page confirmed here. A high-speed station beyond Yinchuan railway station is not named in these sources.
A sample trip
- Day one, if the listings are current: land at Yinchuan Hedong. A Chandon tasting on the LVMH page is about an hour by road, and must be booked. Moser XV is the published visit in the same area. Confirm the ticket that day.
- Day two: Xige at Qingtongxia, reserved on WeChat the day before. The page does not print a clock time for the free entry, so do not invent one.
- A third day of estate visits is not supported. The other Ningxia names in the directory have no confirmed booking page.

Shandong, Yantai and Penglai 山东Shāndōng
The straightforward public visit is the Changyu Wine Culture Museum at 56 Dama Road, Zhifu District, Yantai. It publishes hours of 8:00 to 17:00, with the desk closing at 16:30, all year, and a visitor-centre telephone, +86 535 663 3860. The producer pages used here do not name an airport or a high-speed station for Yantai.
In Penglai, Long Dai requires a reservation, limits a group to 12, and publishes hours of 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00 every day, with closures for Lunar New Year and some other occasions. Book by email at info@longdai.cn, by the WeChat account named on the visit page, or by the form. Treaty Port is in Mulangou, the next village. Jim Boyce timed the walk at about ten minutes. Check treatyport.com for whether the tour and the rooms are open. A provincial visiting season is not published. The Lunar New Year closure is the seasonal note Long Dai does print.
Château Nine Peaks is at Laixi, Qingdao, not in the city centre. The tour page asks for an appointment between 9:00 and 17:00, two days ahead, and four days ahead on national holidays. The desk is +86 532 8640 6767.
A sample trip
- Day one: the Changyu museum in Yantai, inside the published hours.
- Day two: Penglai. Long Dai only with a reservation already made. Treaty Port is a ten-minute walk away if its own site shows the visit is open.
- Day three, only if you have given Nine Peaks the notice it asks for: Laixi. It is not a city-centre stop in Qingdao.

Yunnan and Shangri-La 云南Yúnnán
Ao Yun is the estate English-language critics review. LVMH places it in Adong, Xidang, Sinong and Shuori, Deqin County, near Shangri-La, at the foot of Meili Mountain. The estate site does not publish a visitor programme, an airport, a road time or a season. The legal-page contact is for an enquiry, not a tour desk. Do not build the trip around a tasting room.
A separate Shangri-La Winery turns up in background lists. No website was confirmed, and the name is not Ao Yun. No high-speed station is named in these sources.

Xinjiang 新疆Xīnjiāng
The English critics’ names are Tiansai’s Skyline of Gobi, from the Yanqi Basin in Bayingolin, and Zhongfei. A Decanter exhibitor note gives Tiansai the contact tsjzsc@sina.com and +86 996 632 2222. A visitor programme was not confirmed on a producer page. Zhongfei has no confirmed address.
No airport, high-speed station, visiting season or booking rule for the region is printed in the sources used here. Ask before you detour.

Hebei and Huailai 河北Héběi
The confirmed visit is COFCO Great Wall’s Château Sungod at Dongshuiquan, Shacheng Town, Huailai County, Zhangjiakou. China Daily gives the telephone +86 313 683 1899 and describes a cellar, a wine-culture museum, tasting and grape picking. A 2019 admission price on that page is omitted. Opening hours and a visiting season are not stated.
Travel listings put the château on the order of 100 kilometres northwest of Beijing, on the Beijing–Zhangjiakou corridor. Recheck the train or the road, and the ticket. A named high-speed station, and a nearer airport than Beijing itself, are not in these sources.

- One day from Beijing is the shape the distance supports: about 100 kilometres, then the château, once you have confirmed the day’s route and whether a ticket is sold.
- A second or third day of cellar visits is not published. This guide does not cover every Great Wall cellar.

Shanxi and Taigu 山西Shānxī
Grace Vineyard is the published visit the five regions above do not contain. The estate’s own route is Taiyuan Wusu airport, then the road to Dongjia, Rencun, Taigu. Its sample day includes the Chang family mansion on the way. Reserve on the number and the email the site prints: +86 190 3517 7650, contact@grace-vineyard.com. Weekday hours are 8:30–12:00 and 13:00–17:30. Weekend cover, the site says, is more reliable from May to October. Long Dai’s Lunar New Year closure is the other seasonal note these pages print.
A high-speed station is not named. The Ningxia vineyard sometimes attached to Grace in background notes is not confirmed here.
