Lafite’s visit page puts the estate in Qiu Shan Valley, Daxindian Town, Penglai District, Yantai. Reservation is mandatory. Groups are limited to 12. The published hours are 9:00–12:00 and 14:00–17:00 every day, with closures for Lunar New Year and some other occasions. Tours run in Mandarin, French and English.
The published itinerary starts in the vineyard, then moves through the boutique, a classroom and the vat room, with a stop on food and local cooking, and ends in a tasting of Long Dai, Hu Yue and Xiao Mu Lan. The estate’s first commercial vintage was launched on 19 September 2019, about ten years after the first vines were planted. Jancis Robinson has noted Gérard Colin’s role on the Shandong project, after his work at Grace Vineyard. Jim Boyce has described the walk from neighbouring Treaty Port as a matter of minutes.
