The estate’s history page dates the winery to 1998, the first wine to 1999, and a change of ownership in 2012, when Helan Mountain became a wholly owned subsidiary of Pernod Ricard. Jancis Robinson had already noted the project in her 2012 Ningxia essay.
Xiao Feng is the flagship range on the estate site. Decanter’s 2025 results, as compiled for this directory, credit Pernod Ricard Helan Mountain Xiao Feng Cabernet Sauvignon 2020 with a Gold medal and 95 points. The estate’s own Xiao Feng Cabernet page describes a Cabernet Sauvignon–Merlot blend; check the vintage before assuming that sheet is the 2020 award wine.
A public visitor programme was not found on helanmountain.com. Background notes say the estate receives guests by appointment. That is not confirmed here.
