Decanter’s awards record gives Dongfang Yuxing, Geruihong Yeguangbei 2022, a Best in Show and 97 points. The blend is 85% Cabernet Sauvignon, 9% Dornfelder and 6% Cabernet Gernischt, from Hongsipu in Helan Mountain East. Alcohol is listed at 15.6%. Decanter China says this was one of China’s first two Best in Show wines, a category introduced in 2016 in place of the International Trophy, and the only Asian wines in that year’s top 50.
The same report names winemaker Wu Xiuyong and places the winery at the southern end of the Helan Mountain East foothills, about a two-hour drive from Yinchuan. “Yeguangbei” (夜光杯) is the luminous cup in Wang Han’s Tang poem “Liangzhou Ci”. Decanter’s 2025 coverage also records a Gold for Geruihong Marselan 2024, marked as a Top Value medal.
No producer website or visitor policy was confirmed. Hongsipu is a long way from the Yinchuan estates that do publish tours. Do not add it to an itinerary without a direct answer from the winery.
