The company site dates Château Sungod (长城桑干) to 1979 and describes it as a national research base, chosen in 1978, and as the birthplace of Chinese dry wine in the modern industry. It sits on the Sanggan River at Shacheng, in Huailai County. The company text also says a small portion of the vineyard has supplied wine for state hospitality.
A China Daily tourism page gives the address as Dongshuiquan village, Shacheng Town, Huailai, and the telephone +86 313 683 1899. It describes tasting, grape picking, an underground cellar and a wine-culture museum. The admission figure on that 2019 page is not repeated here. Travel listings put the château on the order of 100 kilometres northwest of Beijing, on the Beijing–Zhangjiakou corridor. Recheck the route and the ticket.
Jancis Robinson’s 2012 Ningxia essay names COFCO Great Wall among the large companies in the Chinese picture. The company makes wine in more than one province. This entry is the Huailai visit that could be confirmed, not a catalogue of every Great Wall label.
